Warmer Days

At the first sign of warm days, Brodi is persistent in his desire to go outside.  He stands by the door impatiently, or comes to get me at my desk and stands there staring me, willing me to get up to let him outside. There is nothing better to him than laying in the sun, the warmth of of it reaching as deep as it can inside his old, tired body.  I'm sure it is an innate behavior, a reaction to his African genes.  One of the uses of Rhodesian ridgebacks was as a guard dog.  The other was to hunt lions.  We have no lions here.  Job well done.  But the joy of laying in the sun, and the duty of the watch continues...

What a great looking buddy you have. He's got the right idea on a sunny spring day.
